Carmen, composed by Georges Bizet in 1875, is one of the most iconic operas in history. This four-act masterpiece tells the story of Carmen, a free-spirited woman whose passionate romance with soldier Don José ends in tragedy. Set in Seville, it explores themes of love, jealousy, and betrayal. For the first time in Saudi Arabia, Carmen will be performed in Riyadh by the China National Opera House, marking a significant cultural event as part of the 2025 Saudi–China Cultural Year, celebrating 35 years of diplomatic relations.
